Hazard #747

ID #747
Status Reported
Location SE 13670 31061
Location Description Going towards the city centre just after the new traffic lights in the hatched area a little before Etna street. Approx 0.5 to 1m from the kerb.
Road Name A647/Etna Street
Hazard Type Raised/sunken manhole or drain
Hazard Description Superb surfaced road following redesign of road junction. However a manhole cover has been left in a sunken position. Due to the smooth surface and heavy road markings it is very difficult to spot. It is also at the bottom of a long steep hill where one has to brake to stay below 30mph and immediately after traffic lights. I hit it at approx 15mph and nearly went over the bars. Have reported to the council but they blame the water authority and have done nothing.
