Location Description | At the top of High West Road, just before the left hand bend and directly opposite a building skip, which has been on the road for some considerable time. The pothole is on the east-bound lane. |
Road Name | High West Road |
Hazard Type | Pothole |
Hazard Description | A long, wide and deep pothole, in the centre of the lane and very difficult to avoid. The pothole is in a poorly lit area, on a fairly steep descent and just inside a 30mph limit. On hitting the pothole at about 30mph, my front wheel collapsed and I was hurled onto the road and into a hawthorn hedge. The front wheel and tyre were both wrecked, as was my waterproof jacket and bike computer. |
