Status Reported
Location NS 97782 45828
Location Description 19 Biggar Road, Carnwath, Lanark, ML11 8HJ
Road Name
Hazard Type Debris on road surface
Hazard Description And low, the snows began and the mud did begin to get dragged onto the road again.

But seriously; when is anything going to happen about this? Last week the middle of Carnwath looked like a swamp and the road surfaces were pretty terrible. And NOTHING is being done about this.

There's a huge steel construction going up and BHC Ltd (steel construction firm) vans and a steady stream of plant lorries.

THIS IS NOT 'FARM' TRAFFIC. Whoever owns the land is building something substantial and also doesn't care about controlling the contamination of the public roads and the impact this is having on traffic and the local community.

This is where you guys come in and explain to the land owner that they're in beach of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, and that they have a duty to avoid dropping excessive amounts of mud, dirt or clay on the roads as might cause a hazard our annoyance to other road users.

Simples!

And it avoids him getting sued in Court through a civil action. One where the appropriate authority also gets their wrist slapped for neglect or dereliction of duty!
